The Migratory plate
About
I am a writer, Supper Club Chef and experience designer working at the intersection of food, migration, and memory. Previously I visited 40+ countries and lived in 6 through a career in Humanitarian Assistance work.
My passion is to teach people creative ways to create community wherever they are. Through The Migratory Plate, I create intimate gatherings and stories that explore how we carry culture, belonging, and home.
My work moves between the kitchen, the table and the page.
Projects
Each project brings people from different cultures and perspectives into the same room: using food as the entry point.
Having lived and worked across cultures, Shirin has developed a sharp ability to read unfamiliar rooms and design environments where connection happens quickly, even among strangers.
These gatherings are intentionally structured to turn difference into dialogue—leaving people more open, engaged, and connected than when they arrived.
